AYUSH Counselling 2025 Important Dates, Fees, Merit List, Eligibility (AACCC Result Out)

AYUSH Counselling 2025 is an admission process for courses in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. This counselling process is essential for students who aspire to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate courses in traditional systems of medicine. Counselling Process involves a structured procedure that includes registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and reporting to the allotted institution. AYUSH Counselling is conducted for admission into both undergraduate and postgraduate AYUSH courses.

The admission process is managed by two main authorities to ensure a structured allocation of seats. For UG courses, the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) handles the counselling for 15% of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats. The remaining 85% of the seats fall under the respective State Counseling Authority. Each state has its own designated counselling authority to manage the admissions for the majority of seats available in AYUSH colleges within the state, primarily catering to the state’s residents.

For PG courses, the AACCC will conduct counselling for managing 50% of the All India Quota seats.  The remaining 50% of the seats are managed by the respective state Counseling Authority. This authority oversees the admission process for half of the postgraduate seats in AYUSH colleges within each state.

To participate in AYUSH Counselling, students must attempt the NEET Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and secure an eligible NEET score. For AYUSH UG counselling, candidates must take the NEET UG Exam for admission to AYUSH UG courses such as BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BNYS. For AYUSH PG counselling, candidates must appear for the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET). This exam is essential for admission to postgraduate courses in AYUSH such as MD & MS.

As per National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), the Ministry of AYUSH, and the National Commission for Homeopathy (NCH), there are a total of 881 AYUSH colleges in India.

Among these, there are 541 BAMS colleges in India. Of these, 79 are Government BAMS Colleges, while the remaining 462 are private BAMS colleges. For BUMS course, there are 58 BUMS colleges in India. This includes 19 government BUMS colleges and 39 private BUMS colleges.

In the field of Homeopathy, there are 239 BHMS colleges in India offering the Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree. Out of these, 45 are government BHMS Colleges, and 194 are private BHMS Colleges. The Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) is offered by 17 BSMS colleges in India. Types of AYUSH Counselling

There are two primary types of AYUSH Counseling: AYUSH UG Counseling and AYUSH PG Counseling, each held for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions respectively in AYUSH Courses. AYUSH UG Counseling held for BAMS admissions, BUMS admissions, BHMS admissions, BSMS admissions, and BNYS admissions. On the other hand, AYUSH PG Counseling manages admissions for MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) course across different specializations. These counseling processes are managed by two authorities: AACCC (AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee) for centralized quota seats and respective State Counselling Authorities ensuring state-wise allocations for both UG and PG courses in AYUSH colleges in India.

AACCC (AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee)

AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC), established by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH) under the Government of India, conducts centralized counseling for both UG and PG admissions. This committee conducts the entire admission process online, from registration to seat allotment. Eligible candidates from all states in India who have cleared NEET 2024 & AIAPGET 2024 are considered for admissions. AACCC manages admissions for UG & PG courses across different types of colleges including government, government-aided, central universities, national institutions, and deemed universities.

State Counseling Authority (State DME)

Each state forms a Counseling Committee, often under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), to manage admissions to AYUSH institutions offering BAMS, BHMS, BSMS, BNYS, BUMS and PG courses such as MD & MS within the state. This authority conducts counselling for UG admission on 85% seats in government and 100% seats in private AYUSH colleges and for PG admission on 50% seats in government and 100% seats in private AYUSH colleges, based on NEET scores. Residents of the state are eligible to apply for seats in government and private AYUSH colleges within their own state. In some cases, states categorized as “Open States” also allow candidates from neighboring states to apply for admission to private AYUSH colleges based on merit criteria.
