Each round of counselling Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Online Stray Vacancy Round requires separate preference form submission, which will be used only for that respective round.

Key Points of Online Preference Filling Process

  1. Separate Preference Form for Each Round:

Candidates must fill fresh preferences for each round. Multiple submissions are allowed before clicking the submit button. Once submitted, the preferences cannot be changed.

  1. Seat Allocation based on Merit and Preferences:
  • Seats will be apportioned solely in accordance with NEET UG 2025 merit and preferences chosen by the individual candidate.
  • Seats will be allocated to special quota (PWD, Defence, Hilly Area, Women, Orphan) followed by general and reserved seats.
  1. College Codes and Quota Suffix:
  • Any combination of college and course will have a four digit code with the letters:
  • S – State quota (Government/Government-aided/Corporation colleges & 85% in Private/Minority colleges)
  • N – Institutional Quota (15% in Private/Minority colleges)
  • Students must also select least 1 preference and may select as many as they wish.
  1. Eligibility for Suffix ‘N’ (Institutional Quota):
  • Candidates who applied for Institutional quota by paying the requisite fee (Rs. 5,000/-) can give preferences for seats with suffix ‘N’.

  • Other eligible candidates can opt for both State (S) and Institutional (N) quotas by paying the corresponding fees.
  • OMS (Other than Maharashtra State) candidates can apply for Institutional quota only.
  1. Order of Preferences:
  • Candidates must enter their most preferred course and college as Preference 1, then in succession for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. Multiple courses/colleges can be left blank indicating that the candidate is not interested in that seat.
  1. Irrevocability of Choices:

The preferences submitted for the seat allocation process round are irrevocable for that round. These preferences will be utilized to determine seat allocation in Round 3 or any subsequently conducted Online Stray Vacancy Round.

  1. Seat Allocation Logic:
  • Allocations for general category seats will be as per merit. Candidates in reserve categories may be offered a general category or reserve category seat allocation according to reserve earmark rules and procedures stated herein.
  • Seats designated for special categories will be allotted first. Other candidates will be offered general category seats after the special category are allotted.
  1. Publication of Allotment:
  • The Round 3 allotment listing will be published on the CET Cell website (www.mahacet.org) as linked to their preferences and ranking.
  • To finalize the admission seat properly, all allotments will also require the successful candidate to report in person to that college, with their documents and fees in the required format.
