How to Apply for MaharashtraAYUSH Counselling 2025

Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling/Admission Process for BAMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses is designed to ensure that eligible candidates who have cleared NEET-UG 2025 can secure seats in these courses. Here’s a detailed overview of the process:

Registration and Eligibility

  • Eligibility: Candidates who have cleared NEET-UG 2025 are eligible to apply for AYUSH courses (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS) in Maharashtra.
  • Registration: Eligible candidates must register on the official Maharashtra State CET Cell website during the stipulated period to participate in the counselling process.

Rounds of Counselling

The counselling process consists of multiple rounds to ensure that all seats are filled based on merit and preferences.

CAP Round 1:

  • Candidates fill their preferences for colleges and courses during this round.
  • The merit list is prepared based on NEET-UG 2025 scores, and seats are allotted accordingly.
  • Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat can secure it by submitting a Status Retention Form to the respective college, ensuring they will not participate in subsequent rounds.
  • Candidates who do not fill the Status Retention Form but wish to upgrade their seat can participate in further rounds.

CAP Round 2:

  • Seats unallotted in Round 1, along with seats vacated due to non-joining or cancellations, are available for allotment.
  • Candidates must fill fresh preferences for Round 2, as previous preferences will be considered null and void.
  • Candidates who did not get a seat in Round 1, or those who wish to upgrade their seat, can participate in this round.

CAP Round 3:

  • This round is for seats unallotted in Round 2 or vacated due to non-joining.
  • Like the previous rounds, candidates must fill fresh preferences, and previous choices will not be considered.
  • Candidates selected in this round must join the allotted seat, as there are no further rounds after this.

Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s):

  • If seats remain vacant after Round 3, Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s) will be conducted.
  • Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in the previous rounds can participate, but no new registrations will be accepted.
  • Allotment is done online, and there is no institutional-level round for any remaining vacant seats after this process.

Important Notes

  • Merit List Operation: The merit list will be operated from rank number one in each round, ensuring that higher-ranked candidates get priority in seat allocation.
  • Status Retention Form: Submission of this form is crucial for candidates satisfied with their allotment, as it locks their seat and prevents participation in further rounds.
  • Free Exit Option: Candidates selected in Round 1 or 2 who do not report to the allotted institute can use the free exit option, allowing them to participate in subsequent rounds without any penalty.

Reporting and Admission

  • Reporting: Candidates must report to the allotted college within the prescribed period with all original documents for verification and admission.
  • Document Submission: Candidates need to submit their original documents along with attested photocopies to secure their admission.

Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling Choice Filling 2025

Admission to BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS courses in Maharashtra for the academic year 2025–26 will be conducted online through a Preference Form submission process. Candidates must complete the online preference form on the official website www.mahacet.org; no offline submission will be accepted.

Candidates must fill fresh preferences separately for each round—Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Online Stray Vacancy Round. Choices entered in one round won’t carry forward to the next, except in the stray round where they may be reused.

Seat allotment is based on NEET UG 2025 merit and the preferences filled. Candidates must carefully enter their preffered course and college codes in a correct format. Those candidates seeking an upgrade must not fill the Status Retention Form and instead submit new choices in the next round.

Maharashtra AYUSHCounselling Choice Locking 2025

In Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling 2025, choice locking is the last step of the online preference (choice) filling process. Once candidates choose their desired BAMS, BHMS, or BUMS courses and colleges, they have to lock their choices within the specified time. Locked preferences cannot be edited or modified for that round.

Choice locking is imperative so that the system can consider the preferences while assigning seats. In the absence of locking of choices by a candidate, the system can automatically consider the last stored options, which may affect the chances of getting a desired seat. Therefore, the candidates are asked to verify and lock the final options cautiously before the cutoff date.

Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling Seat Allotment 2025

Seat allotment in Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling 2025 is made based on the rank of the candidate in NEET-UG 2025, preference form submitted with choices locked and filled, reservation of category, and availability of seats in each round.

The allotment process is done centrally and independently for every round such as Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Online Stray Vacancy Round. Candidates have to enter new choices for every round since previous round choices are not transferred, but except for the Online Stray Vacancy Round, where earlier choices can be used if no new ones are entered.

Once seats are allotted, candidates must download the allotment letter, report to the allotted institute within the given time, and complete the admission formalities (including document verification and fee payment). If a candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and wishes to retain it, they should not fill the Status Retention Form for the next round. However, if they wish to upgrade, they must fill fresh preferences for the upcoming round.

Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling Stray Vacancy Round 2025

Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling Stray Vacancy Round is conducted after Round 3 if seats still remain vacant. This round is known as the Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round and is strictly conducted online—no offline or institutional-level admissions are allowed, in compliance with the directives of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine and National Commission for Homeopathy.

Only candidates who had previously registered and completed the online preference form but did not get any seat until Round 3 are qualified to participate. Candidates who have already been admitted to a seat in Round 1, Round 2, or allocated a seat in Round 3 (either state or All India Quota) are not qualified for this round.

New options need to be filled especially for the stray bullet, as Round 3 options will be deemed null and void. There is no provision for new registration in this round and allotment is centrally done through software, which is transparent and based on merit.

Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling Seat Surrender Process

Candidates are required to submit formal resignation at the college assigned to them prior to the start of the next round of counselling. The resignation letter must be handed over in person. Once they receive the resignation, the college has to accept it and notify the Competent Authority immediately. This involves sending a copy of the resignation letter so that the seat of the candidate is duly vacated.

There will be a stipulated date for cancellation of admissions without penalty. This date would be intimated by the Competent Authority in due course. Cancellations after this date would invite penalties under counselling rules. Candidates who have submitted the Status Retention Form may also cancel their admission within the stipulated date. However, he/she must follow the same procedure of submitting a written resignation at their respective colleges.
